BRITISH pair Nicola Minichiello and Jackie Davies blew their bid for a bobsleigh medal.
The duo had been .25 of a second off bronze overnight after recording the fastest second-run time to stand in sixth place.
But Britain One suffered two dismal final runs yesterday to finish in ninth spot at the Cesana Pariol.
Minichiello said: "I'm absolutely gutted. On corners two and three in the third run I made tiny mistakes.
"And if you make a mistake on this track you get punished."
Davies added: "We didn't know where the time went. We tried our best.
"We were looking for a top-six finish so this is disappointing."
The British girls lost valuable time in the middle section of the third run after a trademark fine start.
Their fourth run was also patchy as they finished more than two seconds off winners Germany One.
United States One took silver, while Italy One came third.
