Marine Martin Wright is also a serving member of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines. He hails from Northampton. Martin, known throughout the bobsleigh fraternity as “Shiner”, took up the sport in 1998 and he has represented the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Bobsleigh Team both as a driver and a brakeman. This season he has been competing as part of the Great Britain 4-man Team on the World Cup as a crewman and on the Europa Cup as a 2-man brakeman. Selected as a crewman in the 4-man team, this was Martin's first Olympic Winter Games. His finest achievement to date was being part of the British crew that took 11th position in the 4-Man World Cup Race in St Moritz, 2005.
