John Jackson has been selected to represent Team GB in the four-ma bobsleigh at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Games will be Jackson's first Olympic Winter Games.

A corporal in the Royal Marines commando, Jackson is the driver of the men's bobsleigh team. He took up the sport in 2005 as a novice, but has risen through the ranks rapidly.

Jackson grew up in County Durham, but now lives in Trowbridge in Wiltshire. He says his sporting motto is "some want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen".

Despite only taking up the sport at the age of 28, Jackson has already secured memorable results, including a top ten finish in the World Championships in 2007.
