Kelly Thomas has been selected to represent Team GB in the women's bobsleigh along with partner Paula Walker at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Thomas serves as brakeman behind Walker, and this will be her first visit to the Olympic Winter Games.
When she's not sitting in the back of a bobsleigh, though, Kelly works as a project manager in marketing. She took up the sport after a successful career as a sprinter, looking for a new challenge and has now completed in Europa Cups, World Cups and World Championships.
Thomas was inspired to compete at the top level by watching sprinter Linford Christie at the 1988 Olympic Games. Her early runs in bobsleigh, though, caused problems after Kelly discovered she was suffering from motion sickness. The good news for her and Team GB is that she's now overcome that problem!
