Now for Racing!
INTER-SERVICE BOBSLEIGH CHAMPIONSHIP
Training for the Inter-Service Bobsleigh Championship, which went well, has finished and everything is in place for a good race in the coming 2 days. It's always difficult to tell from training how the race will pan-out, but all the indiciations are it will be quite a close run thing.
The draw took place this evening. First off in the men's race is, would you believe it, from the Royal Navy Team, Marine Lee Johnston and his younger brother crewman, Captain Karl Johnston. Sadly, Senior Aircraftman Dan Humphries is not competing in the Royal Air Force Team. In the women's race, Corporal Jackie Davies with her crewman from the same Army Regiment Lance Corporal Paula Pearce, will be second off.
The weather forecast is not good - more snow on the way. Although this bodes well for the skiers, it is not good for the ice sports. Snow gets in the track and tends to slow things down considerably. Never the less, we are here to race and race we shall.
I'll update you later with news from the first day of racing.
