Peter D. Scott, MSc,
RSP, MIOSH. FRSH. I have been a Director British Bobsleigh Association for the last two years and before this as safety consultant advising the BBA Board of Directors. It was while I was the safety consultant to the BBA and as my passion grew in the sport of bobsleigh I decided to read for my PhD at University of Bath and my research is focusing on :-"What injuries do athletes suffer whilst undertaking the competitive sport of Bobsleigh” (please see bottom of profile for full research proposal)
Born in Coventry, Warwickshire Married to my wife Mary for the last 29 years and have 4 children Andrea, Lisa, Emma and Kieran and now a grandson and we all live Banbury, Oxfordshire. Full Time Profession:- Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
Sports:- Refereed for the last 19 years within The British American Football Referees Association (BAFRA) and now as the development officer. I have represented Great Britain as a Referee in the European Football Referees Federation (EFAF) having taken part in 10 final during this time with 2 live on TV. Now working within the European Officials Assessors Board.

My Research ¨ Body part effected, Injuries by kind ¨ The severity of injuries suffered ¨ The venues at which the injuries were sustained at ¨ Was the injured person the driver or crew at the time of the incident The continuing work will characterise the injuries suffered by athletes and to research improvements into body protection systems. In particular, the following areas will be reviewed during this research:- Sports injury classification system used in other sports Laws concerning litigation, negligence and duty of care Sports law, Risk Assessments and Volenti Non Fit Injuria Current findings in ice sliding sports Future studies in to developments in safety equipment University Of Bath Link to my Research:- Peter D Scott |
