World Cup Round 03 - Igls Race Reports, December 2008

14 December 2008

The bobsleigh teams moved from Germany to Igls for the third round of the World Cup, with the races being held on 12th, 13th and 14th December 2008. The picturesque village of Igls is set in the Tirol region of Austria, high up above Innsbruck and offers some beautiful views of the mountains. The track itself comprises 15 turns, though one of the turns is bizarrely after the finish. The main feature of the track in the Kreisel (Turn 7) which is a tight 270° corner that is taken at 60 mph and generates a large g-force on the bobsleigh and crew.
